Aurthors Note

Most teens don't start using drugs expecting to develop a substance abuse problem, and while most teens probably see their drug use as a casual way to have fun. Most teens think that they will not become addicted to drugs. But, sooner or later they become addicted and when the teens do become addicted they loss friends and start getting health problems. Among teens and young adults 12 to 25, one-third of those who use illicit drugs say they recently have abused prescription drugs — including painkillers, tranquilizers and stimulants. Among kids 12 to 17, 3.3% had abused prescription psychotherapeutic drugs in the last month. Among 17- to 25-year-olds, 6% had abused prescription drugs in the last month. The teens who have been taking drugs say that they have gotten it from a friend or, for a fee. I really think this needs to stop that friends are giving other friends bad ideas.
This is a real problem and for one I do not think what is happening is right. I know people who have taken drugs just because they thought that it would be a quick thrill and that they would stop. Now that is true it is a quick thrill but, when you stop taking drugs. The urge keeps coming back to haunt you. I know that what these people are saying is the truth not that I have experienced the drugs because i do not think that it is smart. But, what they say is true sometimes you do get it from a friend. Most of the time you can just get it from you cabinet.
This is a very important topic. Drug abuse has always been around especially in the 80s. But when I was asking older people about the drug abuse they told me it has always been around the things is, is that it is a lot more serious. Now they talk about drugs on the news and that teens are finding new ways just to get high. I think that this generation of tens need to stop they are giving a bad rep on every teen in the U.S.
